DOGE will not make a large dent on spending. DOGE is just another marketing scheme from Trump to load his own pockets.

1 . The savings from DOGE is a joke relative to the size of the total debt.

2. DOGE is a publicity platform to self promote Musk and Trump. Not designed to tackle the real problem of deficits. You need to tackle the big expenses not the pennies. Otherwise it’s just publicity.

Trump and DOGE are publicly stating the goal is a balanced budget

Roughly $2 Trillion in spending cuts

Its their names, reputation and careers on the line

Never seen anyone do this or even try or even talk about it

You are welcome to prove me wrong and show me who else is advocating for spending cuts and a balanced budget in the same manner

It always amazes me how people can talk themselves into or out of anything. Especially ReTrumplicans.

Your comment re DOGE is unserious in the midst of a piece which should be quite serious. If Musk wiped out 30 agencies it wouldn't change the trajectory of the deficit or the debt. It's 73% mandatory spending, 13% defense and 14% discretionary. Trump took entitlements off the table because Trump can't do anything difficult, so there's barely any chance of making even a small dent. And you know all of this I think, so I don't understand the comment - DOGE is completely irrelevant to the economy, except for the downside possibility that the unthinking chaos Musk is creating causes the market to lose confidence in the future leading to a crash.

Seriously your statement of ppl being in trouble regarding debt and then your form for "qualified buyers" are completely contradicting. So no one can invest to get out of debt unless they have 200k or 5 mil as minimum initial investment. Wow. You completely changed my opinion on you.
