To investors, Last week, I told the limited partners at Pomp Investments that I would be returning all outside capital at the end of the year and would be converting my investment activities into a family office. The response to this communication was incredibly powerful so I figured that I should share the decision publicly. No matter your occupation or life goals, my hope is that the letter below can help you.
the reality is that with a little bit of info... you can do really well for yourself.
... but, adding the pressure of managing someone else's money...? this ruins it for a lot of folks. invest in yourself (and your own money)? +1. best way to do it.
This is great. I am 30 and I stepped away from corporate finance at 27 for this reason exactly. It was the best decision I ever made and I have the level of freedom that I want. If more people thought this way I think people would be much happier. There is nuance to this and each individual has to make the right decision for them, but most would not regret trading some money for more family/personal time.
True trill nrg
