Headlines sound nervous, but the data doesn’t. When liquidity, spreads, and positioning stay controlled, it usually means fear is louder than actual risk. This is where disciplined investors stick to process instead of reacting to sentiment.

the headlines speak to an accurate portrayal of lower and middle wealth consumers but all the data we've seen also says those people account for very little in the way of total GDP contribution. so the divergence shouldn't surprise anyone.

to me the question is how long can a society (and by extension the economy - not the other way around) survive when 60%+ of the people are only scraping by. maybe forever
