You actually believe the words of the Fed? They’re no different than Trump or any government officials. When people reliably lie on occasion how are they ever to be trusted?
we are so all or nothing in this world --- it boggles the mind. are we no longer capable of realizing there's nuance to virtually everything.
tariffs impact 3 groups - exporters, importing companies and consumers. each of those constituencies weigh their risk / reward over time as information becomes available. trump took the entire global economy and shook it up like a snow globe --- it'll be over a year before all the impacts trickle through the whole supply chain from countries to exporters to importers to distributors to consumers.
so ...... given the vacillating nature of the tariff rollout, it's entirely expected the impacts of tariffs would be lagging with the exporters and importers still. but let's be clear about 1 fact -- tariffs are a tax imposed on the product (in this case, no services were tariffed) and a tax of any kind will in fact end up increasing the net cost of producing and supplying that product which is borne by the exporter, the US company (simplifying) or the consumer.
If consumers see it, that'd be inflationary. What I don't understand in the celebratory construct of not seeing inflation is that IF the US companies absorb the tax, that will negatively impact their net profit which ........ will decrease their market cap and negatively impact stock prices (all else being equial, simplified, not taking capital availability into account).
I just watched the full clip. It doesnt seem to be a positive thing he is saying. It is early days and there is already a clear contribution to inflation. American businesses and retailers are taking on the cost. They are not passing to consumers at this time, but it is our shores bearing the cost.
Yes. That’s what they gave BEEN doing genius. Because passing on the cost is not worth losing the customer. It hasn’t been big enough. People like YOU are still listening to that clown Jerome Powell

Jerome Powell is the WORST Fed Chair EVER
In fiat, saving is sacrifice. In Bitcoin, saving is sovereignty.

Businesses haven’t passed on the increased prices from the tariffs….YET
They won’t sir.
So they’ll make less profit, got it. (eg, Ford).

And you believe that is sustainable?
Keep listening to the clown Fed who has been WRONG about everything 🤡
I just said the effect has been minimal AND all these companies are returning a profit.
“…study history…” The U.S. has tried tariffs before. See here: https://www.concretelogicpodcast.com/blog/grocery-prices-tariffs-and-the-stupidity-of-repeating-history/
You were right on this from the beginning Pomp and I was with you all the way. In spite of your commenters.
