Off The Chain Is Re-Branding :)

Hope each of you had a great weekend. This week you will see a new name and brand for the Off The Chain letter and podcast. Below I explain why we are changing the name and what we hope the impact will be.
Exciting times ahead :)
First, why are we changing the name?
Two years ago I started this letter and the podcast as a way to inform the cryptocurrency community about updates across Bitcoin, blockchain, and cryptoassets. The daily letter was a great way for me to write about crypto for the people interested in crypto and the podcast was a great way for me to interview people in crypto about the crypto industry.
Over time, much of the original audience and content has evolved into something broader. I no longer exclusively write about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency because the industry lives at the intersection of so many disciplines, including technology, finance, economics, politics, law, and others. I also no longer exclusively interview entrepreneurs and investors in the crypto industry, but also those doing interesting work in business, finance, and technology.
While the content has evolved, so has the audience. What started as a rather niche effort for the crypto community has now grown to be consumed by people across many different industries. People message me on a daily basis and it opened my eyes to something really interesting — by expanding the content outside of Bitcoin/crypto, I was actually bringing more people into crypto because they were discovering us from the non-crypto content. These same people would then stay to learn about Bitcoin and the alternative financial system.
Ultimately, I am changing the name because I think the best way to build a larger audience is to continue to expand the content across business, finance, and technology. We are on pace to send over 500,000 emails this month and the podcast will receive more than 500,000 downloads/views. We have been profitable since day one and don’t plan to ever change that. This is just the beginning of something even bigger.
What will the new name be?
This was the hardest part about the decision to change the name. I spent a lot of time thinking through clever possibilities, but eventually selected the simplest thing I could — The Pomp Podcast and The Pomp Letter.
This naming structure was selected because I felt it was the most accurate title for what the podcast and letter have become. Each of these content formats now serves as a medium for me to talk to the most interesting people in business, finance, and technology, while writing about various trends in each industry as well. Simply, I produce the content that I find most compelling and the people who subscribe are like-minded individuals who want to learn about the same things.

Hopefully everyone likes it. If not, I’ll survive. Just don’t make fun of my ugly face or messed up haircut ;)
Will the content change?
No, the branding and name of Off The Chain will be different, but the content won’t change. It will be the exact same things that you have come to know and love. If anything changes, it will be an increase in frequency for the interviews, videos, and livestreams.
Take a look at the last few weeks and you can get a good idea of the type of information to expect. This included an interview with Raoul Pal about the macro economy, an analysis of whether ETH is money, and coverage of the Federal Reserve’s emergency rate cut.
