Bitcoin Must Be Embraced By Both Political Parties

The beauty of bitcoin is that technology is apolitical. It doesn’t care what political party you pledge your allegiance. It doesn’t care what rules politicians put in place. Bitcoin doesn’t care who the President of the United States is at any given moment. And the digital currency does not care which countries support it or attack it.
Bitcoin continues to produce block-after-block of transactions.
The network operates 24/7/365 exactly how it was designed. This apolitical nature of bitcoin has historically kept the asset out of the political conversation. As Michael Jordan once said, republicans and democrats both buy sneakers.
It has been positive for bitcoin that neither political party was embracing the technology.
This changed in recent months though. Republicans have been diligently working to become the most pro-bitcoin/crypto political party. Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for President, has explicitly said he is the pro-crypto candidate.
And now the rest of the Republican party is taking it a step further. The 2024 GOP Platform was recently announced. Here are their 20 promises in the forward-looking agenda:
SEAL THE BORDER, AND STOP THE MIGRANT INVASION
CARRY OUT THE LARGEST DEPORTATION OPERATION IN AMERICAN HISTORY
END INFLATION, AND MAKE AMERICA AFFORDABLE AGAIN
MAKE AMERICA THE DOMINANT ENERGY PRODUCER IN THE WORLD, BY FAR!
STOP OUTSOURCING, AND TURN THE UNITED STATES INTO A MANUFACTURING SUPERPOWER
LARGE TAX CUTS FOR WORKERS, AND NO TAX ON TIPS!
DEFEND OUR CONSTITUTION, OUR BILL OF RIGHTS, AND OUR FUNDAMENTAL FREEDOMS, INCLUDING FREEDOM OF SPEECH, FREEDOM OF RELIGION, AND THE RIGHT TO KEEP AND BEAR ARMS
PREVENT WORLD WAR THREE, RESTORE PEACE IN EUROPE AND IN THE MIDDLE EAST, AND BUILD A GREAT IRON DOME MISSILE DEFENSE SHIELD OVER OUR ENTIRE COUNTRY -- ALL MADE IN AMERICA
END THE WEAPONIZATION OF GOVERNMENT AGAINST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE
STOP THE MIGRANT CRIME EPIDEMIC, DEMOLISH THE FOREIGN DRUG CARTELS, CRUSH GANG VIOLENCE, AND LOCK UP VIOLENT OFFENDERS
REBUILD OUR CITIES, INCLUDING WASHINGTON DC, MAKING THEM SAFE, CLEAN, AND BEAUTIFUL AGAIN.
STRENGTHEN AND MODERNIZE OUR MILITARY, MAKING IT, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE STRONGEST AND MOST POWERFUL IN THE WORLD
KEEP THE U.S. DOLLAR AS THE WORLD’S RESERVE CURRENCY
FIGHT FOR AND PROTECT SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE WITH NO CUTS, INCLUDING NO CHANGES TO THE RETIREMENT AGE
CANCEL THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE MANDATE AND CUT COSTLY AND BURDENSOME REGULATIONS
CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN
KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS
DEPORT PRO-HAMAS RADICALS AND MAKE OUR COLLEGE CAMPUSES SAFE AND PATRIOTIC AGAIN
SECURE OUR ELECTIONS, INCLUDING SAME DAY VOTING, VOTER IDENTIFICATION, PAPER BALLOTS, AND PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP
UNITE OUR COUNTRY BY BRINGING IT TO NEW AND RECORD LEVELS OF SUCCESS
None of these promises should shock the American people. They are common talking points from the Republican party. Obviously, citizens who lean right will be excited by these ideas and citizens who lean left will be less thrilled. That is how politics works and none of us here are going to change that.
But buried deep in this Republican platform was a single paragraph that caught the attention of bitcoiners around the world — as part of building the greatest economy in the world and championing innovation, Republicans wrote:
“Republicans will end Democrats’ unlawful and unAmerican Crypto crackdown and oppose the creation of a Central Bank Digital Currency. We will defend the right to mine Bitcoin, and ensure every American has the right to self-custody of their Digital Assets, and transact free from Government Surveillance and Control.”
Again, put aside your personal political beliefs. It is shocking that this paragraph would be written by either major political party in the United States.
We were told for years that the US government was going to ban bitcoin. The government would shut it down and be highly abrasive. Instead, it appears the government is going to embrace the asset and network.
A political party representing approximately half of Americans is talking about opposing CBDCs, defending the right to mine, protecting self-custody, and empowering user privacy.
It is unfortunate that these ideas are only being promoted by Republicans.
The time has come for Republicans and Democrats to mutually agree on these important concepts as core tenants for the American population moving forward. Bitcoin used to be apolitical because neither political party cared about the asset or network. Now that the Republicans are leaning in to support it, Democrats must do the same so we can return bitcoin to an apolitical position that has the highest possibility of positively impacting hundreds of millions of Americans.
Some of you will think I am dreaming and you will argue the potential future I am highlighting is impossible to achieve. You will say politicians never agree across the aisle. Maybe I am naive, but hopefully not. An asset that can protect the purchasing power for so many people shouldn’t be embraced by only one side of the aisle.

Unfortunately, you are wrong. The US political parties of the 1980s may have found common ground. But the Democratic Party of today is truly controlled by the communist party agenda and no longer has the best interest of the people in mind. Their goal is not what this country was built on so don't naively believe that they will coexist with free capital markets. The even sadder issue is that many of the politicians on the Republican side are also bought and paid for by the same globalists. We are at a deciding moment for our country. Many politicians on both sides of the aisle have assisted in this agenda to divide and conquer. Let's hope it does not succeed and the Constitution of the United States of America is upheld, but even the Supreme Court has been infested with the goal to deny truth for political expediency. The Communist/Globalists believe that the ends justify the means, essentially meaning they will stop at nothing to force their agenda on the American people. The elitists all believe that they are above the common people and that is why they are willing to tread on our rights because we don' know any better. Please open your eyes to the reality of what is going on around us. In a world that believes boys are girls and denies simple realities enslavement of the people is the next step. However, our legal rights given to us at the foundation of this nation are holding them back for now. For how long, who knows?
